Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Who we are
L'Importeur is a trade name of TAV GROUP LLC, registered in Wyoming, United States. We operate from Willemstad, Curaçao and provide vehicle sourcing, import, and delivery services to the ABC islands (Curaçao, Aruba, and Bonaire).
2. Services
We source vehicles from the United States and Europe, handle international shipping, customs clearance, import duties, vehicle registration, and deliver the vehicle to you with plates and registration in your name. The scope of each engagement is defined in the individual vehicle quote provided to you.
3. Pricing and payment
All prices listed on our website and in vehicle quotes are all-in prices. This includes the vehicle purchase price, shipping, marine transit insurance, import duties, sales tax, registration, and plates. There are no hidden fees.
Full payment is required before we proceed with the purchase and import process. Payment is made via bank transfer as specified in your invoice. Once payment is received and the process is underway, the transaction is final.
4. Vehicle condition
Every vehicle is inspected and verified before we commit to the purchase on your behalf. We provide full photographs, service history, and a condition report. The vehicle you agree to is the vehicle you receive.
We source pre-owned vehicles. Normal wear consistent with the vehicle's age and mileage is not a defect. Cosmetic details visible in the provided photographs are considered accepted at the time of agreement.
5. Shipping and delivery
Delivery timelines provided are estimates based on typical transit schedules. Three to six weeks is standard depending on origin. Delays caused by weather, port congestion, customs processing, or other factors outside our control do not constitute a breach of these terms.
All vehicles are covered by marine transit insurance during ocean transport. If damage occurs during shipping, the insurance policy covers repair or compensation. We document the condition of every vehicle before shipping and inspect it again upon arrival.
6. Import duties and taxes
Import duties and taxes are determined by the customs authority of the destination island and are calculated on the CIF value (vehicle cost plus insurance plus freight). While we include these in our all-in pricing, the rates are set by government and are subject to change. If duty rates change between the time of your quote and the time of customs clearance, any difference will be communicated to you.
7. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for providing accurate personal identification and residency documentation. A valid sedula (Curaçao), cedula (Aruba), or equivalent residency permit is required to import and register a vehicle for personal use. You are also responsible for arranging local motor vehicle insurance before delivery.
8. Cancellation and refunds
Once payment is received and the acquisition process has begun, the engagement is final. There are no refunds or cancellations after this point. We ensure all terms are clearly agreed upon before any payment is requested.
9. Limitation of liability
Our liability is limited to the services described in your vehicle quote. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the service fee component of your transaction.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Curaçao. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be resolved in the courts of Curaçao.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on this page is the current version. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
